Comp: Draw against commission rolling into a substantial commission on sales compensation program

Main Street Wholesale Meats is a continuously growing, local business, family owned and operated since 1946. Founded by Julius Seelig, the tradition and success of the business is continued by his son and grandson, and now includes both wholesale and retail divisions.

We’re looking for a results-driven Sales Representative with excellent interpersonal skills to actively seek out leads, and engage customer prospects and secure business with restaurants, caterers, event planners and large venues in the New York City/Tri-State area.

You will provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
  • Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends in the industry
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Recommends products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests
  • Answers customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms
  • Estimate or quote prices, credits or contract terms, delivery dates
  • Consults with clients after onboarding to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
  • Takes orders from customers as needed and relays to the production team
  • Reviews industry trade magazines to stay on top of product and possibly generate leads

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative
  • Excellent knowledge of various cuts of beef, pork, veal and more
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  • Excellent selling, negotiation and communication skills
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • Knowledge of NYC, Long Island, Westchester and Southern CT
  • Ability to travel throughout the Tri-State area 50-75% of the time to customer locations
